What to Expect: Implant Overdenture Process
Getting implant overdentures involves several coordinated steps:
- Initial Consultation
We begin with a full exam, medical and dental history review, and digital imaging to determine if overdentures are right for you. - Implant Placement (Referral)
We refer you to a trusted oral surgeon for implant placement. Most overdentures use 2–4 implants per arch for proper support. - Healing Period
Healing and integration of the implants (called osseointegration) typically takes 3–6 months. During this time, you may wear a temporary denture. - Denture Design and Fitting
Once your implants have healed, we take precise impressions and design your custom overdenture. Special attachments are placed to connect the denture to the implants. - Delivery and Adjustments
You’ll try in the final denture, and we’ll make adjustments as needed for comfort, function, and appearance.
